1970 Germanium Companion FY-2 restoration gallery

Dusty and dirty but not terrible

Original capacitors on the board, they are all bad.

New 10uf capacitor for comparison
Starting to clean it up.
Cleaned and waxed the inside.
Re-cap complete
Flattened out the faceplate as best I could.
The battery holder needs to be straightened out.
Printed out a vintage looking schematic
Coated it with lacquer
Laying down the glue for the schematic
Glue on the label as well.
Not too shabby!
Soldering up the wires.
Time to test!
I have some vintage knobs that are similar to the originals but not quite there.
Carefully machining the knobs I had to get a pretty close match to the original knobs.
