1969-71 Ace Tone Mp-4 Reverb Mixer #1 Restoration Gallery

This old mixer was filthy when it arrived. It took allot of work to get it looking and working nice again, but I eventually got there. haha It went petty smooth for the most part. In the final cleaning stages, I used alcohol to clean the dusty PCB boards. I do this regularly on amps and effects I restore, but this time it turned out to be a DISASTER. It turns out these very old resistors were painted with lacquer. Alcohol dissolves lacquer. The lacquer started melting off and made a mess of the pcb’s and the resistors. You can see this in the pics. It would have worked fine. Nevertheless, I decided to bite the bullet. I replaced them all with new blue metal film resistors. I cleaned the pcb as best I could with q-tips and it’s all looking clean and beautiful now. So, this mixer now has all new resistors and electrolytic capacitors, My mess up is your gain.
