I have 2 of these cool old Ace Tone mixers for sale. This is the older of the 2. This beautiful old vintage mixer has been completely gone over and thoroughly cleaned and restored. I have thoroughly detailed it, both inside and out. I have also replaced many electrical components to ensure it is working great and trouble free for a long time. As standard, I sprayed all the pots and switches with DE-Oxit electronics cleaner. This ensures all is good to go. The jacks were cleaned and brushed as well. The jack nuts/washers were polished up as well as the knobs and anything else chrome. The faceplate was polished up with Meguiars glaze and it’s looking great. The tolex was deep cleaned and 303 aerospace protectant was applied to give it a long lasting shine. Both mixers had hiss and crackling sound issues. It took a bit of troubleshooting to get them working well. I replaced a few transistors that were causing problems. I replaced all the electrolytic capacitors with quality low ESR capacitors. Where possible, I installed polypropylene film capacitors in place of electrolytics. All the resistors were replaced with metal film resistors. I installed a 3-prong power cord and a strain relief for safety. I wired it to the 117v tap on the power transformer. This allows it to run safer on standard North American 120v voltage.
