1973 Teisco UA-30 amp all cleaned up and re-capped. It came into the shop with a cut power cord so I was expecting the worst. However, after some repairs it’s alive again! I gave it a thorough cleaning and detailing and now it’s looking great as well for an old amp. Unfortunately, the reverb isn’t working on channel one. It works on channel 2 but it’s a mild effect. I’ve been testing it with a 4×12 cab and it’s clean and loud. It is great with effects and pedals. This little guy surprised me. It’s 30w rms and 60w peak. Below is are the things that were done to it. All the original parts I replaced will be included with the amp to do with as you please. Below is what was done to this amp.
- Installed a new 3-prong power cord and rewired it for 117v for use in North America.
- Replaced all the electrolytic capacitors
- Replaced any out of spec resistors
- Cleaned all the jacks and pots with DeOxit
- The foam pads for the reverb were deteriorated into dust so I added some new foam under the tank.
- Any loose tolex was glued back down and trimmed
- Some of the grill and faceplate mounting blocks were loose so I glued and clamped them down to sturdy the cabinet back up.
- Replaced any rusty input/output jack nuts.
- Replaced the amp handle ends with some new scratched up ones I had. Still a lot better looking than the rusted originals.
- Cleaned the dust and dirt out of the inside of the chassis as best I could.
- Deep cleaned the cab and gave it a protectant.
